Susan G. Komen Partner

Every year since 2015 the Pink Ink Promise Foundation has started the Susan G. Komen Raleigh race to help raise awareness, education, and advocacy. They would go on to become key Policy Changemakers.

Tara Williamson’s connection to Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure began after she became a breast cancer survivor in 2012. In the years that followed, she brought her strength and leadership to the Raleigh community by forming large Race for the Cure teams in the region. Her goal was simple and powerful: to stand with survivors, honor those in treatment, and bring people together in a shared commitment to hope and progress.

As Tara went on to establish Pink Ink Tattoo, an internationally recognized and award-winning medical areola tattoo practice, her work reached even more survivors seeking restoration and confidence after breast cancer. Her dedication quickly caught the attention of Susan G. Komen representatives, who invited her to serve as the annual Race Starter after seeing her Day of Hope events successes. Each year, she opened the event with their signature motorcycle start, a moment that celebrated resilience, community, and the survivor spirit.

Tara’s advocacy continued to grow, and she was later invited to Washington, D.C. to serve as a Susan G. Komen Policy Changemaker. In this role, she helps elevate survivor voices, supports legislative efforts that improve access to care, and works to protect the rights and needs of individuals affected by breast cancer.

Today, Tara continues her work as a proud Policy Changemaker while forming Race for the Cure teams that represent both the Pink Ink Promise Foundation and Pink Ink Tattoo. Her mission remains focused on empowering survivors, expanding access to restorative resources, and ensuring that no one faces breast cancer alone.

You are invited to be part of this mission. Join our team. Walk with purpose. Support meaningful change for survivors and families in our community.
